Kaitlyn Fairchild - Strong and beautiful, Kait has the power of telling the future through her amazing drawings. To understand and control her strange powers, Kait leaves her home in Ohio and goes to a psychic reasearch facility in California with five other teenagers, the strongest psychics found in all of America. But something funny is going on at the Institute, and they have to find out what it is before something happens.
Appearance: Willow slim with long autumn-fire hair. Her eyes are smokey blue with darker rings around the iris's and pupil. More than anything, she looks like a witch.

Rob Kessler - A gentle southern healer, Rob channels energy. He is a caring idealist and wants to save the world. He is really one of those people who commands respect. Rob's biggest weakness is dealing with Gabriel who spark off each other like "flint and iron".
Appearance: Golden, from his blonde hair to amber eyes, he looks like a "ruffled angel".

Gabriel Wolfe - From New York, Gabriel has spent off-and-on two years in lock-up cells for killing two people with his gift of telepathy. He is very antisocial and is compared to a lone wolf by Anna. Defensive and territorial.
Appearance: Tall and pale, Gabriel has thick black hair and dark grey eyes. Kait once compared him to a drawing done in black and white, or a "black hole".

Anna Eva Whiteraven - Serene and gentle, this girl has the power to influence animals. Anna is like a "cool wind" and is very wise and has wonderful stories from her Native American background. She is not boy-crazy, which Kait was afraid of at first, but she does know much about them and councils Kait in her problems.
Appearance: Long dark hair and dark "owl eyes". She is Native American and very lovely.

Lewis Cao - Usually cheerful, Lewis is ever energetic and optimistic. His talent is PK (or psychokinesis), which is mind over matter. He can deflect compass needles, get machines to move around, do things like that. He's a little more materialistic than the girls or Rob (not sure about Gabriel) having to have his MTV, stereo, computer, etc.
Appearance: Small and Asian, Lewis has a slick cap of smooth black hair and almond shaped eyes.

Cassie Blake - Small and timid, Cassie has hidden talents that lay latent within her. When she goes to New Salem, the town her mother grew up in, Cassie discovers her true past and gifts. She has come from an impressive lineage of witches and must now fight the ghost of Black John with her new coven and friends.
Appearance: Small with large blue eyes (fawn's eyes) and light brown hair which highlights are brought out in the light.
Goddess: The Muse, goddess of inspiration.
Color and Virtue: Cassie's favoirite color is blue, representing inspiration, the virtue Cassie celebrates.

Diana Meade - The "Princess of Purity", Diana is sweet, thoughtful, and always kind to others. She's loved by many people and becomes "adopted sisters" with Cassie. Her only "enemy" (if you could call them enemies) would be Faye, though being the leader of their coven and a member within, neither is allowed by an oath took when entering the circle to harm the other.
Appearance: Diana is slender and beautiful with long blonde hair that is a mix of two colors "like woven sun and moonshine". Her eyes are a limpid green that seem to have a light shining behind them.
Goddess: Diana, Queen of the Witches.
Color and Virtue: Diana's color is white, representing purity.

Faye Chamberlain - Faye is the opposite of Diana, being more cruel to others and does many bad things. She seems to think about herself the most and what power she might gain within the coven.
Appearance: Tall as Diana and voluptuous where the other girl is slender, Faye has long full black hair and yellow eyes. Her skin is honey-pale and she does not seem loath in showing much of it.
Goddess: Hera, proud queen of the gods.
Color and Virtue: Faye loves red, representing passion.

Adam Conant - Almost as good as Diana (and her boyfriend to boot!) Adam has a special bond with Cassie. Unfortunately, this bond gets them into a little more trouble than wanted later on.
Appearance: Hair like burgandy wine with a myriad of colors in it. Blue grey eyes the color of the ocean.
God: Herne, forest god.

Melanie - Cool, calm and intelligent, Melanie is the coven's computer genius. She's one of Dianas trusted supporters, but her character is not developed over-much.
Appearance: - Tall with cool grey eyes and shoulder length chestnut brown hair, Melanie has an imperturbable air of a collected mind.
Goddess: Athena, goddess of wisdom.

Laurel - This girl loves spring and flowers, every growing thing. She is cheerful and compassionate towards all living things and another of Dianas most trusted followers.
Appearance: Laurel is small and spritely with long light brown hair, and a passion for veggies.
Goddess: Persephone, goddess of spring and plants.
Color and Virtue: Laurel's virtue is compassion.

Deborah - A fiercesome girl, Deb rides a motorcycle and respects physical bravery above all else. She begins to admire Cassie when a boy from school is murdered and Cassie keeps up with Deborah in pursuit of the dark energy that did it.
Appearance: Usually sporting a belligerent expression, Deborah had dark hair and a crescent moon tatoo on her collar bone.
Goddess: Artemis, the fiery huntress.
Color and Virtue: Deborah's color is yellow, representing courage.

Suzan Whittier - Suzan may seem like a dumb blonde at first, but there are intelligent depths to her that come out in the oddest ways. She loves beauty and will help anyone with it who needs help. As Cassie discovers, Suzan is truly an artist with makeup and shares these talents whenever possible.
Appearance: Suzan is strawberry blonde with blue eyes and a rather large chest. She's usually seen with a cupcake or twinkie in hand.
Goddess: Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty and love.
Color and Virtue: Suzan chose the virtue of beauty.

Chris and Doug Henderson - These two wild twins go together in everything. Though, Doug is generally worse than his brother, as in when the coven was voting for leaders, Doug voted for Faye and Chris was for Diana. They both completely fall for Cassie, a sweet development that adds to the plot in a wonderful way.
Appearance: Both boys have messy pale blonde hair and wildly tilted blue-green eyes. They are usually seen wearing heavy metal t-shirts.

Nick Armstrong - Tough as ice, and just as cold, Nick doesn't like being a witch. He must live with his aunt and uncle, Deborah's parents, because his own parents were both killed when he was born, and because of this he has become rather angry at the world. Only when Cassie comes and he begins to care for her does the hard shell that has covered Nick for so many years begin to melt.
Appearance: Cold, clean features, rich brown hair, and mahogany eyes. Nick smokes, but since Cassie disapproves, he doesn't do so around her as much.

Sean - Sean is the kind of person that is easy to overlook. He's not very strong and easily intimidated, but Cassie tries to be nice to him in spite of, or even because of, these faults.
Appearance: Small with dark hair and nervous, darting eyes. He blends into a crowd well.

Kori Henderson - The Henderson brother's little sister, Kori seems oddly fascinated by Faye's flaunting of power and dangerous beauty. Unfortunately, she does not make it into the final two books . . .

Jenny Thornton - A normal highschool girl, Jenny has everything. Well-off parents, two best friends, a star athelete boyfriend, pool parties, her own crowd. But as her birthday is coming up, she finds herself without entertainment for her friends and goes into the bad part of town in search of something for her party. Something sexy for Tom, dangerous for Dee, but not to scary for Summer, and interesting enough for Zach.
She finds it.
Appearance: Golden, honey-blonde hair, gold-tinted skin, dark green eyes with gold flecks.
Jenny's appearance of gold reflects her goodness and grace, and the caring nature of her heart. Jenny is strong in spirit, and cares about her friends more than anything. She is "the light."

Julian - Demon, shadow being, jinn, trickster, evil. Shadow Man. Julian is a being not of day, nor color, nor light. He associates his situation with that of Hades in Greek mythology. Hades saw the beautiful Persephone, goddess of spring and new birth, and fell in love with her, then came up in his chariot and took her forcably to the Underworld, which he ruled. Likewise, Julian steals Jenny away... but not without taking her friends as well, and embarking on a deadly game for their lives.
Appearance: They say the devil appears as an angel, and here that still rings true, though this angel is rather more on the sexy side than the holy. With mega-short icy white-blonde hair and longer bangs, Julian has eyes the most intense blue, a body to die for, and an everchanging wardrobe women (and some men) would go to war over.

Tom Locke - Jenny's athelete boyfriend, Tom is often thought to be arrogant, but truly does love her in his heart, even if he has a hard time showing it in public. He does not make much of an appearance eccept for in the second book.
Appearance: Dark hair and hazel eyes, Tom has rakish good looks.

Dee Eliade - This martial arts expert is a slender dark femme fatal. Her mind is more set upon activity than mental growth, and she is a strong believer in her own will. She's strong, period, and generally hates men.
Appearance: Tall and slender, with ebony skin and velvet black hair cropped close to her head. Dee is wiry and tough, but as beautiful as the legendary Nephertiti.
